Investment strategy

Zouk’s infrastructure funds specialise in renewable energy and environmental assets. The team are skilled at de-risking the construction of assets, which once operational generate a strong yield. Zouk creates value by taking control of how assets are financed, built and operated. The team also applies these skills to optimise the efficiency of underperforming operational assets.

This hands-on, active approach was successfully applied in the Investment of Infrastructure Fund I, where the team has built two high-performance portfolios of assets across the UK and Italy. The UK portfolio was sold in two tranches to Aviva Investors in 2013/2014 and the Italian portfolio to a strategic partnership between Econergy and Equitix in 2016.

Infrastructure Fund II totals €220m and builds on the team’s skill of investing at the late stage of development. It targets a diverse range of sectors: wind, solar, waste, geothermal, hydroelectric, batteries and biomass in the UK and Europe.
